Only in America could a guy who is a writer first and a singer second move to North Carolina in a desperate attempt to turn his life around. Meet a guitar player from Florida, who came to North Carolina just a month earlier, to get away from all the trouble that seem to haunt him daily there. Then those two, trying to get something positive going together find a young man from Asheville, NC who had worked since the age of nine to hone his skills in percussion, to a level that would allow him to become a professional musician and fulfill his dream. Than add the last piece to the puzzle from a young studied musician from Charlotte, NC. Together the four young men worked, perfected there skills and accomplished their goal of creating a sound of their own!! Influenced by modern alternative rock, punk, classic blues, and the experiences that drive people to express themselves with whatever means necessary, Lake Effekt is comfortable in a full spectrum of sounds. From grunge – blues riffs, to quick metal, to acoustic ballads, they sweep through the best of modern genres while maintaining their originality via penetrating, intelligent lyrics. The hooks are deep and barbed; the guitar will reek as much havoc as it will beauty. Diversity keeps crowds jacked into every song, and the following is growing like a ripple in the water, four members’ one effekt. With the much anticipated release of â€ÂÂœThe Falls” album in February 06, and enough material for another, this band has made all the right moves with no short cuts, and is pack with explosive potential. Lake Effekt may very be the band to help fill a vacuum of Alternative rock, with a sound on the level with mainstream heroes
